I have a couple of Marshall 4x12 cabs.  They're the smaller ones that go with the solid state heads...  I've been using an Egnater Rebel 30 and a modified Magnatone to power them, depending on the situation.

 A couple years ago I got 4 Reapers and loaded them into one of the cabs.  They sound effing great: way better than what was in there, but the low end sounds weak to me.  They feel like they're missing that low end rumble that rattles snare drums on the neck pickup...  I'll call it the "Hendrix Rumble".  That's the best way I could describe it without getting too intangible.

Seeing as I have another 4 speakers to upgrade, I've been looking to add some different speakers to the mix to supplement the low end without screwing with the overall sound of the reapers.

After listening to some of Vaughn's videos, I'm thinking either Reaper 55's or ET65's, but I'm a bit confused about something.  In the comparison videos, Reaper/Reaper 55 and ET65/Reaper, the Reaper 55 seems like it has less bottom end than the ET65.  But, the tone chart lists the Reaper 55 as having more bass.  How does the Reaper 55 compare to the ET65?  Any recommendations on what to complement my existing Reapers with?

ET65!  The Reaper55 may have a more EXTENDED low end, but the ET 65 has more actual low end ... and it's oh so juicy!

I got a pair of ET65's a couple days ago, and I finally had a chance at playing them today.  I put them in an X pattern with the Reapers and I am blown away at how DELICATE and SENSITIVE the combination is!  Even at high gain settings, notes and chords are still articulate, and the overall tone is still touch sensitive.  Even the tone controls feel like they have more range.

Thanks for the recommendation.  Now it's down to figuring out the best way to mic the cab.

Yep, it's downright magical what the ET65's do in a good pairing, isn't it??  Glad you have reached tone enlightenment grasshopper. Oh, and ultimate best way to mic the cab - two mics, one on each speaker model ... then ... if in stereo, pan them ... it'll be huge!
