RE: What speaker for my modded Blackheart BH5H ?

I own a Blackheart BH5H head that has been modded (point to point version by Mojo). It has one EL84, one 12AX7 and a GZ34 rectifier.

The cab is the BH112 (closed back), and the speaker is a 12" Eminence 1216B (75W, 16ohms).

The stock speaker is dead (accident...), and I have to change it.

My maximum budget is $100.

I play either a Stratocaster (57/62 pups) or an Agile AL3100 (LP style, neck=P90, bridge=mini-humbucker)

I have a pretty simple board (wah->vibe->fuzz->OCD).

I play mostly 60's/70's rock, psychedelic,blues/rock (ala The Who, LedZep, Hendrix, Trower, Pink Floyd, CCR, etc.)

 

I like my tone with quite a lot of mediums, not too harsh trebles, not too farty basses.

What would be the best choice among your speakers ?

Good, an EASY one!

That's the perfect Rx for a Green Beret ... it'll love the single-ended 84 ... and the closed box!

Daniel answered my mail and told me that the Reaper 30W would be very good... so I ordered it yesterday.

Is it still a good choice ?

Ok, just received my Reaper 2 days ago... sounds awesome (especially for the price).

Noew I have to wait till its break-in is over to hear its full potential ;-)

I agree... I DO love it ;-)

I play 2 to 3hrs/day since I received it, it's gettin' better and better every day...

It is just a great fit for this (fully modded) amp. Way more articulate than the stock Eminence.
