I have a Phaez Jackal which is based on the Marshall JTM. However, mine was built with two 6V6's and a GZ34 rectifier tube and produces 25 watts. I'd compare it to a Germino Masonette.
I'm looking for a single 12" speaker that will let the amp shine. I need a speaker that works equally well with both clean amd overdriven tones. It will be going into a cab measuring 24" x 20" x 12" with a convertible back. Initially, I was leaning towards the ET65 due to it being well-rounded. Trevor from WGS also suggested this speaker. However, I read that it's fairly warm sounding and primarily used to "fix" a bright amp. I wouldn't consider my amp overly bright.
I currently have the amp running through a Traynor DHX212 cabinet loaded with two Celestion Greenbacks. I love the punch they provide but I'd prefer a bit more warmth. I play Blues and Classic Rock. My main influences are Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Santana, Joe Bonamassa, Jimi Hendrix and SRV. What do you suggest? My budget is $100.
Thanks in advance!
