RE: Dr. Z Maz 8 replacement?

Hey,

I purchased a Dr. Maz 8 2 weeks ago and I just can't seem to bond with the Celestion G1230H 70th anniversary speaker.  Seems harsh and I'm constantly tweaking the eq to find my tone.  I'm primarily a humbucker player and use pedals for my od/distortion.  I had great experience with a Retro 30 in my Fender Super Sonic 22 and I was wondering what you would recommend for the Maz 8.

Man ... a quality single-ended EL84 amp, to me, just screams out for quality Alnico!  I'd go with the Blackhawk (NOT HP) over the Black & Blue for the more robust bottom of the Blackhawk.

If you need to stick with Ceramic, the ET-65 sounds like the best way to achieve your goals.
