RE: Dark sounding amp, bright speakers?

New here, so here's a big HELLO from Finland to you all. 

We finally got a distributor for WGS speakers a few months back, and as far as know the business is good... And why wouldn't it be, great speakers and reasonable prices!

Usually people complain about a fuzzy or harsh tone, how to get rid of the annoying sizzle. Well, I've got this thing reversed. I want the sizzle back. No, it is not my hearing.

Some time ago I bought a Laney LH50 head. At the store I played through a Laney 1x12 cabinet, which had a C***stion 70/80 in it, and it sounded good. I assumed, that when I get to play through my 2x12" cabinet with a Reaper HP and an ET65 in it, i'd be in heaven tone wise, and took the head home with me.

Boy was I surprised. I mean, the tone is solid and punchy, but it's lacking the sizzle. Since I had that sizzle at the store, I assume, it is the speakers. Right? 

So my question is, which WGS 12" speaker has more sizzle, comparing to the Reaper HP and ET65? HM75, maybe?

Yes, both the Reaper & ET65 are a couple of our warmest speakers!

For you, I would recommend the Retro 30 ... which has the most top-end sparkle of any WGS model ... and it's not at all harsh, either :-)

Another good option would be to mix a single G12C in with either your ET65 or Reaper ... the G12 REALLY has top-end cut ... usually too much for my taste by itself in a bright amp ... but mixed with the ET65 it can be downright magical with a dark amp.
