I have a new princeton 68 reverb amp. I don't use the internal 10" speaker but use an external cabinet. I tried the veteran 30, but it's too "bassy", too "thumpy". I can get a descent sound but I have to dial down the bass down to 1 on the amp. Any suggets for a 12" speaker?
Sounds like you are using a closed/sealed (or even ported) cab ... yes?
No it's an open back.
Humm ... I hadn't heard that they were that bassy! Certainly the originals were not.
Anywhoo ... that sounds like a G12 then (ribbed)!
G12a? g12c? or g12c/s?
The rule is to almost always go Alnico if you can afford it!
And since I said "ribbed" (not smooth) that would, of course exclude the c/s.
