Looking for suggestions for a 2X12 closed back cab. It'll be a choice between a mix of either retro30,green beret,andreaper. This cab will be used pretty much for recording purposes thru a Jet City 20 head. I need some early breakup at somewhat lower volumes. Looking for Cassic rock tones with retained clarity. I think any combo of these will pair up well but thought I'd get an additional opinion before ordering. Thanks
Since you need "early breakup at somewhat lower volumes" ... make at least one a Green Beret. Now ... for "retained clarity" ... that sounds a lot like a retro 30.

- Lot of pedal...(Earthquaker Talon overdrive)
- Telecaster HH.
My cabinet is a Marshall 1960B with 2x G12T75 and 2x Celestion V30...i will replace the V30.
What is the perfect mix with my G12T75 ?

Thanks for the reply Vaughn, I had already decided on the GB. The retro seems to be the best choice based on what I've read along with your suggestion. However, the reaper also looks interesting. Some have described it as "darker",others as having a "sparkle" on the top end. Sparkle works for me, darker doesn't. Not everyone distinguishes between the two reaper models so its difficult make a fair evaluation from the two versions. I appreciate your input and know it gets a bit redundant for you constantly being asked the same question. Thanks again for your time. Also, your speaker shoot out/comparisons are quite good. Clear differences, well balanced assesments. Even on a laptop.
The Reaper is a lot darker than a Retro 30 ... and the Reaper HP is even darker still.
