Peavey Classic 50 4x10 speakers?

Heyyy...a few months ago, I scored a Pevey Classic 50 4x10 and have been VERY happy with the goddamned thing. 

 

I play in several bands, and have taken to using the classic for all of my non-metal gigs (including '60's soul, '70's pub rock/Wilko/Feelgood sound and a Tom Petty cover band)

 

Here's the thing.

 

The amp does a great big, round Fendery sound, but I sometimes wish it had a bit of that Celestion mid-range bite to it as well, so I've been thinking of maybe changing out a couple of the speakers to get a blend.

 

So what would be good for that? I'd want to leave a couple of the stock speakers in (blue marvels, I think) so I'd need something that lined up both ohmage-wise but would also stand up efficiency-wise so they'd be heard.

 

Alternately, I might just pick up another one (or a vintage 30) with 12"s and stick a V30 in there...which is probably what a sane person would do.

Man, to bring that to the table ... your best bet would be with the Green Beret Tens!

I'm surprised more people don't ask about 10s...I think the standard wisdom is that it's too expensive to swap out 4 speakers or something...but with the popultarity of the HRD and these Peavey Classics, there are a LOT of 4x10 amps in the world right now.

Since that post a week ago, I picked up a 2x12 Classic 50, too. It's about 1/3 open back...If I was to go "full british" with that, would green berets be the thing to do, or a V30 sort of thing?
