Has anyone tried the Reaper HP/Invader combo in a semi open back cab? I've got a Mesa Boogie Trem-o-verb combo and I'm thinking of picking up an invader, or a Retro 30, to add to my Reaper HP. Part of me wants more mids, the other part of me needs some thumpy low end.
I've got same configuration in a Crate V Series 2X12. It's closed. I just opened by 1/3 a 4x12 ET65/Vet 30(MDF) because it didn't breath enough.
Normally, I would be very tempted to open Invader/ReaperHP because I play very low volumes at home. But I haven't entertained the thought at all. Cab allows the mids to shine and I seen to get the exact sound out of it I want. Virtual 12M/12H Greenbacks.
I can only testify to closed back. Open I don't know. this Cab is light in weight so that might have something to do with it. kinda cheaper MIC plywood.
