Hmmm. I've always had a hard

Hi

I'm currently shopping for a 2x12 cab, most likely will go with the Mojotone 2x12 straight Marshall replica. I believe this type of larger box will have enough internal volume to provide some "oomph". Yes/no?

So, now for the speakers!

I play a Mesa Mark 5, but basically I'm going for old Marshall-esque type tone. I use EL34 tubes. I'm concerned that the Green Berets aren't rated high enough to be in a 2x12. I really like the Invader and the Liberator and I'm intrigued about the extra beef a Reaper 55 may give me.

 What can you recommend?

Hmmm. I've always had a hard time staying within the lines, but jeez.

Always prefer a big-box 2x12 when feasible!

Also, yes, you are correct, the MKV is probably a bit much for a pair of GB's. ... BUT ... that's EXACTLY why WGS introduced the Invader!  Go for a pair and don't look back ... you'll get the "old Marshall-esque" tone in spades ... and the big box will give you all the bottom end "oomph" you want.

Hope this helps, please post back here with your results!

I just bought an Avatar big-box (old school Marshall) Vintage 2x12, and I'm really diggin' on it.  Good construction, no heavier than it needs to be, and a good price!
