Fender Deluxe Reverb Silverface 1978

Hi,

At this moment the stock Pyle speaker from the seventies is in my amp, but I think it's way to bright even with the bright cap removed. I like to replace it with a WGS speaker that is less bright, but it has to retain some of the Fender brightness because I don't want to lose that completely, I just want it less bright. As I can read here the ET65 and the G12C/S might be too dark for my taste, and the G12C might be too bright. Is there something in between?

Greetings,

Walter.

Now ... "G12C/S might be too dark for my taste, and the G12C might be too bright."

Yes ... on both cases.  However, the ET65 will almost definitely NOT be too dark!

I like The G12Q if you want pure blackface tone ... The Blackhawk Alnico for uber fender tone ... and the ET65 and Green Beret both are good options to cover a lot of ground in a DR!

Thanks Vaughn. About the G12Q, it is only 20 watts, is that enough for a Deluxe Reverb?

Yes, I've had one in mine for over a year and a half ... Dean (WGS Production mgr)  told me we could have labled them 25-watts!
