Change in plans...

I am building a 1X12 cab to go with my Line 6 POD HD500 and DT25 head (25/10 watts).  I have a 2X12 with Celestion V30s but want a smaller versatile cab to take to gigs and jams. My style run from drop tuned metal to prog rock to heavy blues and classic rock. Think Volbeat to Rush to Winery Dogs.  The Pod gives me multiple amp choices from Fender to Marshall to Mesa and Soldano and I do use effects, delay, reverb, etc... I haven't decided on open or closed but am leaning towards Mesa style Thiele cab design.

So my budget doesn't allow alnicos but everything else is on the table.  Looking for recommendations on the best match for my amp and styles as well as cab design choices.  Really pumped to be using an American made product supporting American workers...

How quickly things change... I just scored a Crate VFX 5112 for a song on eBay so I have my 1X12 now, made in USA, 50 watts, all tube, 2 channel, with FX loop, and open back cab.  Will be changing the blown speaker so looking for recommendations...

I don't need super loud but good clean/ crunch/ distortion is essential.  I do play a lot of drop D too. 

Thinking Retro 30 or ET 65?

Hey ... you will LOVE the Retro IF you like the slightly scooped sound of a lot of balls on the bottom and a lot of top as well.  If you want something more balanced, go with a Reaper (probably HP) or a ET-90.
