Best speaker for 2 x 12 cab for Orange Rock Reverb 50

Hi,
I recently acquired an Orange rock reverb 50 head (alongside a Fryette, I got the deal of the year) an plan to plug it into a 2x12.

What kind of speakers would you put in it to give it a proper Vintage tone but still allow to push the dirt channel? And what kind of cab? Closed, open, semi?

And 100$ question: what would be a setup that could be used both with the Fryette Memphis 30 when I want to use it with the cab, and the Orange when I want to use this amp? In both case giving a vintage touch and allowing to still push the dirt channel?

Okay, totally got ya … and thanks for doing a good job of describing your needs! Oh, and cool amps btw :slight_smile:
The answer is our #1 versatile combination of a Retro 30 and an ET65, and the 1/3 open back cab is the magical point for these … the thump of a closed-back with the 3-dimensional beauty of an open-back!
