Can someone tell me how a Retro 30 is in a Closed Back 1x12? I have an Orage Dual Terror and a PPC112 loaded with a Vintage 30. I'm looking for clarity and punch without becoming muddy. The V30 is pretty muddy and has the infamous icepick midrange. I also need a speaker that sounds great with high gain palm muting. Is the Retro 30 my perscription or maybe something else?
You sound right on track ... & I think the Ret 30 is best suited to closed back.
