I know this has been asked before with respects to a 112 combo but what about the 212 combo? Would like a bit less early breakup in order to open it up a bit but would like to use two different speakers to get a bit more of a 3-dimensional sound?

Cool … one of the great “sleeper” amps ! I’d say go for the fabled Retro 30/ET65 combo, should give you just what you are looking for!
Thx for the quick response Vaughn and I agree with it being a sleeper amp… I just need it to get the wet blanket off of it! As to your suggestion, would you place the ET65 on top of the Retro 30 for the 212?
No … actually with that amp, I’d put the Ret on top. Of course, you could play with both & see whatcha like best@
