just installed this yesterday in my Hot rod Deluxe. out of the box the clean sounds pretty good. slight drive is good, but distortion (mxr +) sounds very unimpressive. is this just the break in period? or just not the right speaker. i mainly play bluesy with overdrive, but still like to play my Metallica and others with distortion from time to time.
i played for about an hour yesterday with it (mostly clean). will this speaker open up to play distorted tones also? or did i make a wrong choice of speaker for that?
the speaker clean is way better than stock out of the box. i actually got my treble control back. always was at about 2 with stock speaker because highs were so piercing. yesterday i had them at 5-6 and there is just much more control.
just kinda worried about the distorted tones, any info???
