Looking for "the tone" for this amp.... Currently running a G!2A, but not enough treble with this amp (which is supposedly 16 watts)
G12Q maybe? They work GREAT in my "tweed" GA20s and GA19s.......all about the same power.
Hummm ... must be a VERY dark amp!!!!
The G12Q will have less bottom ... but not necessarily more top ...
You might want to consider the simple addition of a "bright" cap on the input (ala Fender).
I put in an old '71 Jensen replacement 12-inch (LMI-125) today. Yeah, it's a 100-watt speaker, but a huge increase in treble AND tube overdrive. VERY crunchy and thick.
I may still ty the 47pF across the volumes thing as well.
