Hi all,
I'm now an official WGS addict, after getting a quad of veteran 10 for my SR reissue, and now a WGS G15C for my 67' Ampeg Gemini 2, which I really really really love (did I say really?), and I think the amp really became alive with that WGS speaker. I surprinsigly sounds even better but still "vintagy" with this new speaker.
Anyway, I have a really good silvertone 1484 too, but the cabinet is is pretty rough shape, beside it still has 2 vintage Jensen C12Q in it. I'm planning to keep this cab for the studio and use a new cab with 2 WGS speakers in it.
I'd like to keep that great vintage tone, the same way I did with the Ampeg Gemini 2.
Would a pair of WGS G12Q handle the relatively low power of the Silvertone 1484?
This amp is rated at about 40w but I think they're more about 25 to 35w thanks to the small OT.
A safer way would be to go with G12C/S as they're rated at 75w, but I'm afraid the amp would hardly make the speakers move...
Help me please ;) (life is hard sometimes haha)
Thanks,
Jean
